SSSS Catering

This following is a suggestion about how the catering will work for the trip…

 BREAKFASTS:
The pantry and fridges will be well stocked with a selection of breakfast foods including bacon, eggs, toast, fruit, fruit juice, tea/coffee sugar. Spreads will include vegemite, honey, blackberry jam, crunchy peanut butter. Everyone will look after themselves for breakfasts but need to make sure they don’t get in the way of the people rostered on to prepare lunches. Damian, Simmo, Seano and Brock will buy all the food on their way up from Melbourne for the breakfasts (and lunches) and pack the fridge and pantry.

LUNCHES: Duties of those rostered on to lunch
People rostered to sort out lunch only need to cut the ingredients for each days sandwiches and get everything out on the bench so people can file though and make their own sandwiches. Once everyone has made their lunches you will clean up the kitchen and get ready for kayaking. Ingredients for lunches include cold meats, fruit, vegetables, breads, butter, cheese and sauces such as relish. All the lunch ingredients will be purchased by Damian, Brock, Seano and Simmo on their way up from Melbourne

DINNERS: Duties of those rostered on to dinner
Those rostered on for dinner have the responsibility for buying and preparing nice big meals for all SSSS members. Dinners will need to have options for those with eating disorders such as being gluten intolerant or vegetarian. If you are rostered on you are not expected to do all the dished for everyone but should have a sink full of soapy hot water ready to go for when people are finished eating. If the people rostered on for dinner make too much and the leftovers are suitable for tomorrows lunch the dinner rosterees should talk with those rostered on for the next day’s lunch to see how it fits in with their planning.

  1. Adam - I'll bring you an apron for you. Does that mean Damo is dish pig?

  2. Rostering entirely agreeable I believe - very fair and equitable.

In light of this I think the coordinator should consider the adjustment of roles, whereby the cook role shifts to Adam? Ado?

Fury, your dish pig suggestion washes well too and should be added to the roles too?

  3. great roster!!

hows we dig in deep and tantalise our taste buds with a range of international flavours during the SSSS?

we could butter up dishes from all continents, and have a few 'surprise' dishes thrown in the mix for good measure?

me happy to go crazy with sub continent (indian) meal on 9 oct, if simmo, and our fine feathered friends, approve

  4. Milo i'm pretty good at Pizza so in keeping with Seano's international meal theme i propose we do Italian pizza for the night we're rostered together.

  6. Seano, your suggested choice of cuisine is a specialty of mine... all in brother! ...sari packed

Ado, any suggestions?..maybe you could start by applying thinking from a traditional dress sense and we can work back from there?

  9. It is said that a man can walk the length and breadth of this vast land and eat nothing but bangers and mash and come back stronger than when he left
